Conflict will develop between her family, the Spanish Officer who thinks he owns her and the young American Officer. The story ends with the end of the war and the beginning of a love story between two cultures.
The first scene starts in a U.S marine squad barracks tent. The squad presents a good atmosphere to establish that they are close comrades. The main protagonist is Sergeant major Joel Connors, who leads his squad with good faith but has a childhood relationship with Corporal Palton. The social activity in the tent is disturbed by the Lieutenant Talon. She has Connors follow her on orders from the Colonel. She leads him to the Colonels tent where he sits at a set up table. Connors responds to the order and the Colonel asks him to sit down. Connors still speculates whether or not he's in trouble. The Colonel starts out with " We got a call from home." He pauses, because he sees that Connors is reading what he might be leading to. The Colonel continues saying that his wife has been missing for 71 hours. After a small controlled rage of questions, Connors comes to settle down. After he sits, the Colonel explains that the last people to see her were their neighbors; the Baltwins. They said she delivered a Birthday card that Connors had ask her to give to their son, and she left with no signs of turmoil. Connors confirms that he addressed her to do so. After informing Connors, the Colonel gives him the option of going home with the next recruit drop off in two days. The Colonel lets him consult with his team before making the choice. Connors, leaves the tent to inform his squad of the situation and to reassure them that he can stay if they needed him. Palton stands to push him to go home, where the rest of the squad follows in agreement. Connors then thanks them for understanding and says he'll be going to accept the offer(no scene for that part). The next day Connors team is given orders to go through Kabul with two other squads to address a possible insurgent hideout being established in the city. The scenes move fairly quickly threw the ride there. They head into town where they see that this normally heavily populated town is deserted. The team sees that something has gone wrong and they fan out to find signs of life. Connors team takes route threw the water banks of the town. They make questions as to what happened to the people for there are no bodies yet found. After reaching center of town where there's a temple like building down the road. They stop to radio in on their discoveries of nothing. As Palton is talking to the other squads, Connors looks in the distance with the camera on him at all times. He then asks a squad member for binoculars. Connors looks through them with the camera still on him, as we see his face going from an speculative face to a hopeless stunned, he lowers the binoculars with wide eyes targeted on something. The scene switches to a blurry vision of the building temple. Then switches to Connors striping the Barrett Sniper Rifle from his comrade with everyone now staring at him. Connors looks down the scope to where he was looking before(camera in scope view) He sees a lady sitting in a chair in a window. The scene goes back to him where he pauses and says the name "Kathryn." Palton reacts to the name quickly and takes the rifle from Connors to look himself. Palton throws the Sniper down and rushes at Connors and starts to pick threw his uniform pockets and pulls out the photo of Kathryn he knew he kept in that pocket. Palton examines the photo and looks back through the rifle as Connors with no emotion, says I know it's her. he repeats this as palton keeps looking. Just as the rest of the squad started to question, they are all silenced by a voice screaming " Joel!" Scenes quickly switch from the other three squads to show the reaction of everyone to the haunting scream that echoed through Kabul. The scene switches to Connors getting up off the ground to yell "baby!" Palton pulls Connors behind cover where the other two follow. Connors struggles to get Palton off him, while Palton rationalizes with him what this means. That the only way she could possibly be here is as a hostage. Connors starts to calm down a bit and question how this could be. Palton informs the other squads of what they have found. Where one squad starts to inform base camp of the discovery. We switch to scene of the Colonel getting the information and after confirming it, he starts to make calls. Going back to the squad, Connors keeps look through the scope to see his wife. Palton pulls him back insisting him to not look out there considering this whole city could be a trap of snipers. Connors insists they get closer. Palton trys to refuse him, but fails and they carefully move through buildings to get a block closer. Connors leads the way to crossing a street, where he goes first with the other two squad members behind him. A shot is fired and knocks down the last in the line, where Palton and the other soldier pulls him out of the center street view. They checked out the solider to find that he's dead for the bullet went through the right temple. Radios react to the shot and Palton informs. The squad other squad makes the call to not move up and pull back to a location they can meet at. Connors makes the question "why didn't they shoot me first?!"Cut to the U.S military investigations looking into what this situation means. They make the suggestion that somehow insurgents got in and kidnapped her, from her home, because there are no records of her leaving the country.

This is where the idea can expand in any undercover espionage or crazy terrorist plots can be developed, but the point is choosing the right one, or more original one to develop this into a fresh idea. One concept I had was that Kathryn was contacted by terrorists in the United States who mentioned that they know where her husbands camp is and they could destroy it at anytime, unless she comes with them. Where their thoughts are that having a hostage gives some hold over the U.S, but a hostage that is the wife of a soldier, and having the soldier discover the hostage, would grant them much more flexibility in what they want.
-This is also an area where we can go through many things the terrorists want, whether it be money, the president, a terrorist prisoner or just to gratify some psychological need.
The atmosphere I am going for in a film type, would be like the Hurt Locker. I'm not one to associated with the military information. I'm just a 17 year old kids who gets random bursts of ideas and this is one of them, very underdeveloped. Comment one what you like, or dislike please!
