The life of the greatest running back who ever lived, Barry Sanders... Life as a kid, through highschool, college, and to the time he walked away from the NFL. I think he has a great story that would need to be shared with the world.
A young boy (Cristian) growing up in San Salvador is forced to write a pen pal (Sarah) in the United States in his local school. The young boy eventually befriends the young girl through the letters they share. All the while the boy is developing into a stellar athlete as is his young friend(7th/ 8th grade). Both are fond of the game of soccer/futbol although the young girl has the advantage of resources provided by her well to do American parents. When the Salvadoran government is overthrown by a band of rebels, young Cristian's world is torn apart by a wayward bomb that kills his father. Cristian's mother is shattered and doesn't know what to do. They become homeless in a war torn ghetto in San Salvador. Cristian sees his mothers pain and writes his young friend in hopes of coming to live with her which she quickly agrees to. The girl sends money to Cristian that he uses to smuggle himself and his mother to Texas where the young girl lives. Upon finally arriving in the Texas city it becomes apparent that the girl had forgot to inform her parents of their new house guests. The family after much consideration decides to allow the woman and Cristian to stay in their guest house. Cristian's mother becomes the nanny to the family and becomes a "part of the family". Cristian struggles to adapt to his new environment and having to learn new things. Cristian's mother learns the language from the curriculum Cristian is learning in his ESL classes. Cristian, lagging behind even his mother is scolded and challenged by Sarah to learn. Feeling isolated in his "new world", Cristian leans heavily on his passion for soccer and trains whole heartedly becoming an elite player in his high school. After a stellar season he is invited to the USA under 17 program where he runs into problems with his papers. He is forced to leave the country along with his mother. Returning to El Salvador, he is driven harder to succeed and is instantly an elite player in the country and is signed to a contract with his favorite club team from his youth. After several more remarkable years he signs with a European team that pays him a huge contract. All this time he has kept in contact with Sarah and invites her to see him in Italy where he is playing. She is instantly won over by his charm and they are married. She once again scolds him into learning Italian so that he can understand what is going on around him. Once off season comes Cristian is overwhelmed on the decision of where to live... San Salvador, the US where Sarah wants to go back to, or Italy.

Then Looking at him in 2009 and 2010 for the Majority of the film and NOS rise to win the Super Bowl.
The most memorable or better yet the most fun games in football consist of a lot of scoring, it is very entertaining and you know you get your moneys worth when you see points just stacking up. A few examples are the Green Bay Packers vs. the Arizona Cardinals which the final score was 51-45. The Oilers vs. the Bills ended with a score of 38-41. I can name so many games but my movie “Hail Mary” will bring that to the big screen. It will be about two amazing quarterbacks who led there teams into the championship game I wont give you an exact score but it will be a high scoring game. Both teams are nervous and bring different characteristics, like maybe the running back is cocky, the o line are focused or the wide receiver is just confident. All these elements will affect their teams in different ways. The key match up the movie will focus on will be both quarterbacks. I will create a Joe Frazier and Muhammad Ali type of atmosphere between both quarterbacks they will bring out the best of each other. “Hail Mary” will give you that feeling you get when you are watching a close game on TV or live in the stadium. These two great teams go into the championship game and have the best game of their lives an make a rivalry out of it. Hail Mary will set a new bar for movies and you’ll be cheering for a team as you watch, just like you cheer for your regular NFL or college team. Hail Mary will make you feel one with sports.
John Smilley played for a Football League for fifteen years during the early 70's. He was a Linebacker who was thought to be the toughfest of all. Named best Defenisve player 8 times and MVP twice, John was living his dream until a concussion finished his career. His live since, has been nothing but miserable. He finds out soon after his career was over, that the Players Association did not have a Bargaining Agreement Formalized which would have secured his pension plan for life. Therefore, John is way over his head with major medical bills, constantly having dizziness and nightmares plus he is feeling guilty realizing the damage he might have caused to other peers while playing out his toughness. Now is up to him to find a way to make a positive out of his negative experience.
