It all starts with a mission to mars in the year 2068 a mysteron installation is attacked and destroyed by three earth explores leading the mysterons to declare war on earth.
the mysterons have the ability to replicate and control any person or object by killing and through the power of retro-metabolism they use this power to conduct war on earth and defence establisments like spectrum and its airborne cloudbase headquaters.
The mysterons are never seen their presence is indicated by two circles of light tracking accross the scene their actions are always through their replicated victems.
captain scarlet becomes spectrums principle weapon at the forfront of the battle scarlet a spectrum agent whos real name is paul metcalfe is killed in a car crash.
By the mysterons and replaced with a duplicate under their control wile
in battle falls some 800 feet off a tower and the personality of paul
metcalfe reasserts itself in the duplicate who is now immune to the
mysterons control also scarlets new body has two new powers they allow
him to sense the presence of other mysterons and and duplicates nearby
and if he sould get injured or even killed retro-metabolism will
recreate him (self-repairing) scarlet does feel all the pain associated
with the injuries it still always him to be reckless and suicidal on
his missions to foil the mysterons.
