Sonic, a young hedgehog with superspeed, has stolen one of the mighty Chaos Emeralds, which will grant its user ultimate supernatural power. In order to become truly invincible, Sonic must acquire all 7 emeralds. But, he is being prusued by the villainous Dr. Eggman, who plans to take the emeralds for himself and rule the planet. Sonic meets new friends and teams up with two unlikely characters, Tails and Knuckles, to defeat Dr. Eggman and his cybernetic legion.
