14 year old, Fan Conell, has had a secret crush on two different guys, but she just can't choose between them. Nice guy, Ian Getler, and the guy who hangs out with all the "cool" people Jake Zemplin, are two different people that she just had to get stuck with choosing. In a dance, nice guy, Ian Getler, asked her to dance with him, before then, they had kind of been friends, but not really. During the dance they both confessed they loved each other. Fan's friend, Bailey, tried to get them together, but Ian said he didn't like Fan enough to go out with her. After that, it was as if the dance had never even happened in the first place, he didn't even talk to her anymore. "Cool" guy, Jake, also had a sort of secret crush on her too, but she had no idea. He was in almost every single class she was in, but not every single one. But what Fan didn't know at all, was that there was another guy who also liked her, Tyler Trankdon. Fan was more of the quiet type who hung out with loud people, but they were still her friends. You could consider her the lost puppy in a crowd. In the end, she ends up picking the right guy after all and they get along quite well, or you could say "they lived happily ever after..." Ian Getler finds a girl who is perfect for him and so does Jake, but you could double and together how happy they were, but it still wouldn't equal how happy Fan and her man were.
