Liberty
In the late 1800s a donation was given to The United States Of America by the people of France to celebrate the commentary of the Declaration Of Independence. The gift was a statue named Liberty Enlightening The World which was rumored the sculptor made the face from his own mothers characteristics. Liberty was built in Paris and was shipped to the USA in many pieces put in crates. The problem was that six cities wanted the statue and they were willing to fight for it. The owner of the New York World newspaper was excited to take a bid in the statue but New York had no money. So, he had a fundraiser through his newspaper and received over one hundred thousand donations from all over the country. New York was able to fund the statue after his efforts and the country coming together. This is the story of the Statue Of Liberty and how people came together to make the dream come true and what the statue means to the world.
