This movie is about a man, going throught the court systems to fight for his 2 children against the mother who abandoned them. Its going to be a hit, and it is the beginning of movies that are based on a fathers rights to be the custodial parent.
He loses Custody in the beginning and even though her background was unstable and unhealthy, in this day and time mothers usually get custody despite their flaws. She kidnaps them in the beginning and runs across statelines to file in her home state since she was a residence there and all her family is there, as well as friends in the court systems.
After a while he tries to just take his kids back and they take all his rights away by filing parental kidnapping charges. She now has full control of the Children
He spends years going through the court systems to have his ex wife parentally alienating the children from him, to having the District Attorney be her Family Lawyer and with his pull the father stood no chance.
Thats until he moves back to Florida and gets a really good lawyer as well as having luck on his side and the judge on his case, due to many negligence cases, and placing children without following through on such orders as DHS visiting the home which was in their papers but never done. He decides to retire and relinquish his title as Judge.
The father in the end pulls together pyschologists, police officers, and Family Services to become involved in the childrens life and the mothers life and she decides that the children are better off with him and asks to be granted Visitation during certain holidays and Summer Months.
While they may have spent 4 years fatherless there is hope at the end of every rainbow, and Justice should always prevail
