The story revolves around a young-upstart school psychiatrist who is gay but still hasn't come out of the closet. He refuses to do so in fear of losing his job with the school due to concerns of how his sexual choice may be perceived and accepted, or not as the private school he works for is still very prim and old-fashioned. In order to maintain a semblance of 'normal' life, he evens goes so far as to marry a woman who he doesn't love, yet who he has come to acknowledge as his wife. He has come to accept his life as it is, yet still has problems controlling his sexual desires and wants...everything is going 'fine' until one day a transfer student starts at the school and within minutes of the initial orientation meeting together, the psychiatrist begins developping a strong attraction for the student who is of course very young, charismatic, and attractive. The psychiatrist understands that his developping feelings for the student can and will have a devastating effect on his life, and quite possibly his job therefore he suppresses his urges as best he can, all the while fighting the temptaion to try and develop a form of relationship with the boy. Time passes with no incident or problems other than the occasional casual flirting attempts on the psychiatrist's part during their one on one sessions until one day when a school bully who notices the tension between the two as he passes the psychiatrist's office feels the student may be homosexual and because he hates 'gays' he decides to pick on him. A week before the school year ends, the bully decides now is the time to 'teach the boy a lesson' and as the student is walking across a frozen lake to get home, he starts tossing rocks at him from a train bridge above the lake. The bully gets so into it that he doesn't realize the rocks he is throwing are getting larger in size until finally one penetrates the ice the boy is walking on and causes it to crack and subsequently break open plunging the boy into it's frozen grip wherein the boy eventually drowns during a frantic rescue attempt by students and teachers who witnessed the boy go in (including the psychiatrist...). Angered beyond reason and devastated emotionally by the loss of his friend and 'secret love', the psychiatrist quits his job at the school, his wife leaves him due to his constant drinking binges, and he simply dissappears from the eyes of society for a few years until one day in one of his few sober moments, he concocts a plan to revenge himself against the bully who killed his 'love' and destroyed his life as he sees it. In learning that the bully will soon be released from juvenile prison, he sobers himself up, changes his name and as he still holds a valid psychiatrict licence in the state, he takes a job with the states court-appointed psychiatrict program. A few more months pass and finally the bully is released at which time the psychiatrist requests his portfolio in order to 'help' the poor bully get better, see his past mistakes and re-integrate into society. Unfortunately this is not his main purpose, of course being to torment the bully for his past mistajes, making him relive it over and over again in their sessions, he manipulates and deceives the bully into believing he may even be gay himself due to a few instances that occured to him sexually while he was incarcerated. What follows are months and months of emotional and mental abuse being suffered by both the psychiatrist for having to relive his past pains and horrors, as well as the bully who becomes to see himself as possibly gay, and mentally becomes even more unstable than when he began. This continues for a year or so, until one day the bully makes a move on the psychiatrist. It is only a kiss, which brings shock to the psychiatrist, but even more so as he actually enjoys it and subsequently begins generating affection for the bully in a small for. as time passes, he finds himself thinking of the bully more and more, sexually and romantically as well. As their relationship develops into friendship and even flitting moments of romance, he decides that he may even love the bully and decides one day to act on it and throw himself at him, at which time the bully turns him down explaining that he thought he may be gay based on what happened to him in jail and their past discussions about it but has decided unfirtunately that he is not and therefore doesn't want anything to do with the psychiatrist romantically anymore. This devastates the psychiatrist to no end, first the loss of his love at the school, then being rebuked by the killer who he finally developped a new love for over time. He cannot maintian his own sanity anymore and thus, as a concusion to his life, as well as the movie he drives himself to the same lake that the boy he initially loved drowned, swims out to the middle and allows himself to sink until he ultimately drowns there. The entire time he is drowning thoughts of his transfer student roam his mind until darkness envelops him and he is finally at ease, with himself and reunited with the boy...
This is just a story idea i got one day, it probably needs some 'tweaking' and whatnot, but i think it'd make for a pretty good drama/life story sort of deal!!
