A very Michael Moore-esque type documentary about a young adult age 20. This story is very true about a college student looking to make it big in the real world. He comes across an opportunity he has found online, and gets suckered in. He quits school and takes part in this "Boiler Room" type job.
The job requires him to go door to door selling things that offices do not need, with the opportunity to move into a management position. He sees the good... happy customers, the bad.... rude people, and the ugly.... being dragged out of offices by his suit coat. This student eventually moves across country to help open a new office.
Turnover is very high with this company, due to low commission rates,
but he sticks with it because he sees a light at the end of the tunnel.
As all employees are between the ages 20 - 25, sex, drugs and alcohol
all play a major part in this young adult's life. He experiences many
heartaches and pain, along with much debt, including repo's, apartment
evictions and losing the girl of his dreams. He is crushed by this
"cult-like" job and in this movie, you will see a day in the life, a
year in the life, and the life of this one time promising college
student. Broken promises, lies, and all the heartaches will not diminish
his quest for success.... until one day it all falls apart. The true
story of how multi level marketing and pyramid schemes shape the lives
of young adults in America.
