Rest Stop, The Movie.
You have looked forward to your get away to Las Vegas, you have saved enough money to make it a fun trip.
It is a long drive and you are almost there, the last rest area before you get to Vegas is just up ahead. You are in need for a stop and you are thankful but not this time.
Four convicts escape from the Oregon Prison, they have one goal to take over a rest area just outside Vegas to rob all comers knowing people are packing a lot of cash.
A guard is killed and there is a nation-wide manhunt, It is a long way to Vegas from Oregon. Murder, robbery,
car-jacking and rape are part of their road trip. The movie never slows as you get the insight not only of the convicts but the victims. There is an F.B.I. agent on their tail always just a step behind.
The movie has a fast paced format that speeds up as the story all comes together at the rest stop.
Rest Stop was written more as a movie then a novel. It has all the makings and ingredients that make a movie a commercial success. The Blockbuster movie Jaws comes to mind. Before you enter the water at the beach, you think of sharks, Paranoia. The same when it is late at night and you stop at a rest area, before you get out you look for sharks.
People are infatuated with prison stories then throw in the escape .People get drawled in with the pursuit. The dialog is full of profanity but realistic. The scenes in the movie will be graphic but again realistic.
The movie is designed at the ending to leave room for a sequel. The novel is available on Kindle
