A husband and father of three boys was born and raised in the small town of Richwood where his family has thrived for many generations. The town was created around a lumber industry and has strong connection to the coal mines. With the passing of time, the once thriving town, is now a shadow of its self with the demand of lumber declining and the primary source of income for the people of the town is the mining industry. The town has a small lumber mill which is surrounded by rumors of its future closing and the only reason it has remained in business is due to the support of the remaining towns people that still has hope for the community. These towns people know this mill is the reason the town is in existence and know it is a major icon for the few who still hold on to hope of rejuvenation of the town. Other than the mill, the only reminders of the once glorious town is a grocery store and a couple of gas stations. Most of the residents who reside in the community either fill the minimum wage positions at the grocery stores and gas stations or work in the coal mines and lumber yards. The remaining citizens of the town must resort to other means in hopes of securing a means to prosper. So the jobs that are on the rise in Richwood are in the booming drug industry. With the state of the economy and the pushing of the "green jobs" endeavor, the coal mine and lumber companies are faced with cutbacks and shutdowns. This town which relies solely on these two industries has now been poverty stricken. When poverty strikes, depression strikes. The easiest way to fight depression is a "quick fix" also known as a drug fix. So these small time drug runners are now becoming king pins and have this town in the palms of their hands. Still the people who have grown up here all their lives refuse to leave holding on to the hope that the bad times will pass and the town will recover. The once small time drug runners turned king pins see this time as a chance to take the town for good by getting rid of the people who would wish to see the town back to the way it was before the economy crashed. With the minions these king pins have at their disposal, they order them to beat the hateful towns people's children forcing the parents into submission. One minion goes to far and kills one child of the before mentioned father. Before the police have a chance to link the minion to a king pin, the minion meets with an unfortunate demise leaving the police with no evidence and now way of preceding with the case. Blinded with anger, the father devises a plan to bring down the drug king pins. Everyone in the town knows the king pins cook up the drugs in their homes but the police have no way of obtaining probable cause to enter the homes. This father who has lost a son to these murderers call the cops to an address of one of the king pins under the assumption of a prowler on the loose. The father has already snuck inside and when the police arrive on scene, the father starts screaming for help. The police are not burden with being forced to have a search warrant because they are obligated to protect and serve those that need help. The police rush in and the father rushes out. The police than find all the drugs and arrest the king pin and all his minions. The father will continue to do the same thing to each king pin in the town until he is caught by the police, killed by the king pins, or finishes taking back his town.

"Never trust anyone, not even if they say they'd die for you"

Rick Savage is a police officer of 15 years. His partner Keith Marlett has been his partner ever since. James has a family, a wife and a kid. Keith...has always been jealous.

Rick is shot in the line of duty after Keith his partner has supposedly just retired from being a cop. Keith tried to kill him as he was on break, but did not succeed.

 2 years later

Rick has recovered but been in Coma for over 2 years from the gun shot to his head that almost killed him from his ex-partner Keith. Rick does not know who shot him. And he's just finding out that his family has been missing for over a year.

Keith has kidnapped his wife and child and is trying to keep them as his own family. Rick is devastated when he hears that his family is missing and has been for over a year. He wants answers, tips, clues...anything he can get his hands on.

As suspicions throughout the movie have coldcased him on and off again he becomes suspectant that Keith may be involved somehow and tries to get more information. Only to find out after confronting Keith, staking him out...and talking to his neighbors and family members...that Keith is a very untrustworthy person and can be very dangerous and delusionally capable of doing deranged things.. and acting upon his obsessive impulses.

A side to Keith that Rick never knew about..even after 15 years. Rick finds out in the end that Keith couldn't afford his medicine anymore after having a nervous breakdown right after retiring. It drove him insane. By this point Rick has already regained his family and killed his ex-partner Keith that he had known and been partners with for 15 years. THEY WERE LIKE BROTHERS!

(Rick is a decent cop and always has been, but his partner Keith is a ruthless bastard that doesn't like to play by the rules. Keith is completely jealous of Rick.)
