DC Phillip Henson is a young rising detective in the Metropolitan Police. He's 29 and partnered with the celebrated DI Scott Cowdrey. With promises of being made Detective Sergeant, Henson puts his all into a new case. Over the past month 3 bodies of young women have turned up in the London Thames, all had their throats slit and the words 'whore' burned onto their forehead. A little digging shows that the victims were all prostitutes and as the days of the investigation turns into weeks another body turns up. But this time Henson recognises her and doesn't understand why. There's another break, the murder weapon is recovered and for some strange reason the prints that are recovered are matched to Henson. Not surprisingly Henson is arrested and during questioning he discovers that he can't provide an alibi, he can't even remember where he was. Does this mean that his family history of schizophrenia has caught up with him early or is it something more sinister?
