The Plot of my movie starts off with two high school friends, one tall and slender, and the other one short and heavy. Both from the inner city Chicago, goes off to college with little to no money.With the slender one being a smoker of..(420) over their freshman year the heavy one starts to smoke also (Without his mothers knowledge or consent) ,but the slender friend starts to notice the heavy friend is losing weight at a very rapid pace.So the first couple of Months of their sophomore year they start to do research and testing of their own to see if weed really does help with weight loss.Once they have seen that their research is as accurate as they thought it would be. They start to push for the legalization of weed to help with weight loss towards the end of their sophomore year.Which will be a very tough task for them both being African-American and still in college.By the start of their Junior year they had accomplished their goal and Marijuana was approved by the government and the FDA for weight loss.With the drug being a instant seller and popular through out the world. For the first time of their lives the two friends start to see what a taste of success is like financially.Not really paying attention to the hostility they would receive for such a highly publicized drug.In their Senior year and last year of college the boys start to see the Other side of this success. Family troubles,Robbery attempts,the Government seeking unheard of amount in taxes,Reporters and News Writers bashing the two boys for legalizing such a controversial drug.The boys see that this country not only builds up but tears down.The boys begin their process to take their own drug off of the shelves to help stop and prevent this destruction it has been causing. Now it is the government that is making it a difficult task to remove the drug,because of the amount of income the drug is bringing in for the country.After receiving help from Political Speakers, Reverends, and other well known public figures.The Government decides they will have to remove the drug.With the success and the negativity the two boys have received in just 4 years.They realize that money isn't everything u expect it to be and it always comes with a price. I think this movie would be considered a Drama but also a comedy as the 2 boys were always known to have a outrageous sense of humor.
This is a comedy fiction based on a true-life character.
Title: The Barkley Project
Everyone (especially golfers) know of the 'hitch' in Charles Barkley's golf swing & what a terrible golfer he is. He is so often rediculed about this (there are already clips of Tiger Woods making fun of him) What if his 'hitch' all of a sudden works & he actually becomes a good golfer. So good that he actually starts winning tournaments, such as the American Century tournament that he annually plays in Lake Tahoe and finishes last). He then becomes a pro & wins a PGA event (such as the US open). All of a sudden other struggling pros start to imitate him & seek personal instructions from him.
I see this being a 'spin-off' of "The Haney Project" that aired on The Golf Channel" & made-for-TV movie. It can only work if Charles Barkley starred in this film because he already has a comedic personality.
