Paul,Lewis,Martin and Frenchy are best friends at high school, and have a particular hatred towards the Head Teachers son Dano who torments them constantly. As the last day before the summer holidays rolls in, a storm begins to brew outside the school bringing along with it an un-natural heavy mist. When Rain begins thundering down the students instead of going home on their buses, have to stay in school, where tensions begin to rise and the few teachers left have to try and calm down the students. Just before the main entrance to the school is locked, a tall hooded figure enters, and begins walking towards the principals office. Paul and Lewis while sitting at a table befriend the school librarian a young,attractive german woman named Diane in her 20s who was about to go home. She invites them into the library where she gives them some water as the storm rages outside. The phonelines soon cut out due to the weather and as the night draws in, Dano begins to grow weary and un-settled due to the fact he has been off drugs for a few weeks now. He and his friend Chuck approach Danos fathers' office where they hear several loud bangs and the hooded man exits the office locking it behind him. He walks past them staring earily at Dano who goes to the canteen. One of the temp. teachers named Cooper suggests to the other teachers that they venture out into the storm to the payphone near the busstop outside the school, Cooper and three other teachers do just this. But a truck travelling at a high speed, turns the corner into the school by accident and he mistakes it for a road and he crashes into the payphone and a parked bus destroying the bus and the ensuing explosion kills two of the teachers. Cooper and the other teacher, Mr.Gallagher run off only for a piece of debris to fall and kill Gallagher. Cooper runs off heading for the school. The students eventually get into a panic and Frenchy and Martin discussing movies are caught up in an ensuing panic between the students who are intent on getting out of the school, the large group of them accidently trample a student and crush him. Frenchy and Martin run off and find the trampled kids bag, and inside they find a revolver, Dano and his friend Chuck intent on annoying the two begin harrasing them causing Frenchy to drop the gun, and Dano only joking thinking it was a toygun begins toting it in Martins face, and Martin is about to leave, when the students rush into Dano causing him to shoot Martin through the face by accident. Martin dies a bloody mess and Frenchy runs off, heading for the library when he bumps into the tall man and knocks something out of his hand, a gun falls to the floor, and the shocked Frenchy crawls off. Dano using the gun as leverage forces the students to line up and illustrates that the teachers have abandoned them, so they are alone without help, he assures them he is their new teacher and forces one of the kids to do a few press ups aiming the gun at him, Frenchy, eventually finds Lewis,Paul and Diane and ushers them outside, where Dano is lining the students up. Dano aims the gun at an overweight boy who wont do the pushups, the child still refuses and Dano smashes his nose in. One of the teachers approaches and the large group of remaining students soon begin taking sides, the fearful on Danos side, and the other side consisting of Paul,Lewis,Frenchy,Diane and a chearleader named Amber accompanied by her friend Haley and her brother Steve. Dano begins to usher commands and forces two student to go to the roof and signal for help, the two students Marty and Clark reluctantly agree. Dano begins harrassing Frenchy with his new found authority, and the Danos group eventually attack him in a riot-like fashion resulting in them heaving Frenchy into the air and throwing him off the second floor where he falls to his death. The students go after Pauls group but they lock themselves in the library and barricade all entrances into the library. The co-Librarian emerges with the tall man in the hood from the staff base in the librarians office. Paul breaks down in tears, and is comforted by the calm Lewis, who forms a bond with Amber after paying her with respect unlike Dano and his friends. They become friends but everyone is disturbed when the co-librarian begins shouting for help only to be shot dead by the tall man. THE TALL MAN:(FLASHBACK.) The killing fields Vietnam, the tall man or sergeant price emerges from a helicopter into the battlefield with his six man team, and they attack and brutally gun down several vietnamese soldiers before Price beats a teenage soldier to death. He feels horrible afterwards but his team comfort him, their commanding officer radios in and informs them that they are to enter the vietnamese bunker and go through their underground passages, while in the passages though, when Prices flashlight begins flickering, he is advised by another soldier "shut the fuck up, put the light out." Only for the soldier to be stabbed in the throat and killed by an enemy soldier, who is gunned down by Davies, a soldier in the team. Davies and Price and the rest of the group are captured but one of the group Willis (the head teacher,younger.) reveals himself as a double agent and leaves with the young librarian named Ted, who both ratted the group out. The vietnamese soldiers begin playing russian roulette with Davies who is shot dead, Johnny the last soldier other than Price is Prices brother and he is shot dead too, but Price breaks free of his bonds and shoots them all dead, but as he runs after Willis and Ted he encounters his commanding officer Brucey, and the two escape, but they soon emerge into a factory like office, where Brucey and Willis engage in a brutal fist fight, resulting in one of Bruceys grenades being set off while attached to his belt, and in an effort to save Price he jumps out of a window dieing in an explosion. Willis stabs Price and leaves, with their two other agents Fritzy and Dave. Price manages to escape and while running through the jungle he is attacked by a vietnamese soldier and the two end up duelling in a crashed helicopter, where inside it breaks in half and the soldier falls to his death, only for Price to run off and be rescued by a two man boat team. Several years later in 2011 Price is in New York where he finds and kills Fritzy by beating him to death with a tyre iron. He then finds Dave and stabs him in the heart before gunning down his bodyguards. Price then meets up with his christian friend Jules in a coffee shop, and the two begin discussing movies and religion, but when Jules goes to the toilet, Price strikes up a conversation with a waiter Randy and the sleazy billionare teen owner Don, the two soon leave when Jules comes back. Jules and Price then say goodbye to each other and Price arrives at Lake Blue high school , the next day, where he finds Willis and casuallly chats to him. Gunshots are heard from outside the office. And Dano and Chuck walking towards the office dont notice a figure running out. Price then exits the office locks the door and walks past Dano and Chuck. He walks upstairs. He then hears a gunshot and bumps into Frenchy who knocks the gun out of Prices pocket, Frenchy then runs off and Price seeing Martins dead body slips into the library where he see's Ted drinking coffee, the two engage in a conversation about Teds motive but are disturbed when Paul and his group enter, and begin barrciading the doors. After the doors were barricaded Paul and his group sit down, and Ted begins threatening Price saying he will "call for help." A term he used in the war meaning to kill someone without them knowing, why or even knowing at all. As Ted leaves and begins screaming for help, Price can tell he will kill the kids so he pulls out his gun and shoots Ted four times through the back and head causing the librarian to die a bloody mess. As Price tries to explain why he did it, Lewis and Steve jump him from behind only for Steve to be thrown into a bookcase and Lewis into a row of computers. Price aims the gun at all of them and tells them to calm down. The library begins shaking and a shard of metal from the roof falls and hits Price on the head killing him, and an explosion far off is heard coming from the roof. While Price bleeds on the floor, a scream is heard from Cooper. Marty and Clark: (Flashback.) Marty and Clark are at the cinema one day but during the film they are annoyed by Dano in the seats behind them, so they reluctantly leave, the next day at school when Dano tries to annoy them again, Clark punches him in the face, causing Chuck to tend to the bleeding Dano. The two of them are about to leave the school for the bus home when a crowd pours into them and Marty and Clark are edged backwards until a teacher informs them all of the storm. While the storm rages outside the two of them begin discussing Clarks sister Veronica, who un-beknownst to Clark has slept with Marty, when Marty breaks the news feeling to guilty to hide it, the two begin to face off until a gunshot is heard and they rush upstairs only to be forced by gunpoint to stand in a line, by Dano, who because of being punched by Clark forces the two of them to go to the roof and signal for help. They reluctantly leave and upon arrival on the roof emerge into pouring rain, and the door they emerged from because of the wind closes behind them, and they soon realise they are locked on the roof, they eventually begin to quarrel and Clark blames Marty for the situation so much so that they engage in a short fight which ends in Marty being knocked into a gas panel which smashes upon under his weight and gas begins to shoot out of it, unknown to both of them and while Marty lies in a heap, Clark lights a cigarette to calm down only for his hand to catch a light, and for him to drop the cigarrette which lands on the gas panel and causes it to implode which kills Marty in a fiery mess and knocks Clark of the roof. Cooper: (FlashBack.) Cooper is lying on the ground next to the destroyed payphone and the dead teachers, he begins running towards the school, but is nearly struck by the falling body of Clark which knocks him to the ground, he continues running and makes it into the school. Dano is standing at the canteen and he is ordering the teens around at gunpoint having gone power-mad. He orders some of his friends to rally up some of the other students and split them apart. Students are being dragged down hallways, beat to death, some are even thrown of the balcony, one girl is dragged into the toilets by one of Bradleys friends. Cooper finds Frenchys and Martins dead bodys, he is about to run off when is grabbed from behind by Dano's cronies who beat him severely before making him lie down on the ground, of the corridor facing the library, Dano begins shouting to be let into the library but Paul continously insults him from inside, Dano grabs a random student, and makes him choose "He lives, if I get, if I dont, he dies!" Dano forces the kid to put his mouth on the side of the corridor, wall slanted, like a curb, Dano forces him to open his mouth and then brutally kills the kid by stamping on his head, killing him with a curb stomp. Chuck is horrified by this and he stumbles away. Dano grabs a tire iron he found and begins smashing at the library doors, "Let me in!This is my school!!!" He then takes his anger out on the snivelling Cooper and stabs Cooper in the stomach before throwing him out a window. Dano still despite his efforts, cant get into the library so he leaves after killing a third person. Diane and Paul begin to bond still in the library and they end up kissing, but Diane pulls away. Diane (FlashBack.) Diane arrives via. airplane to New York where she becomes the room-mate of her friend and fellow employee, Randy, (she works at the coffee shop.) She becomes friends with the sleazy yet likeable billionare-drug addled-teen owner of the shop Don, and the two get into a conversation about the nazis, and why Germans are still treated badly to this day because of the choices Hitler made. The two bond, and Don introduces Diane to his friend Seth, Seth and Diane go on several dates but soon break-up, when Seth cheats on her, and one day while working, two customers leap into the air, waving their guns commenting "everyone get down!!!" The two customers then proceed to rob the coffee shop and leave after shooting dead, Seth who had emerged from the bathroom un-aware of the situation. Even after the robbery, Diane cant get over the trauma of the event, so Don sets her up with the job at the school library. She arrives on her first day of the job, after being told by Don, "its a nice place." Present time: Dano finds a baseball bat and begins hammering on the doors, of the library as does his cronies, but Chuck refuses and comments "Your fucking crazy." To this, Dano shoots dead Chuck in-front of the shocked group in the library. Dano begins hammering on the doors and manages to break one of the windows, he fires his gun in and it bounces of a metal bookcase and the stray bullet kills Haley, Steve is distraught and he breaks of a piece of wood from a chair and squares off at the door telling the rest of the group to run. Dano breaks in and snaps Steves neck by hitting him over the head, which kills him. Amber and Lewis become split up from Paul and Diane and they hide in a boys toilet where they find an injured girl named Sally who had been raped by Dano. Diane hides in her office while Paul and Dano fight, the two engage in a brutal fistfight which destroys the library, Paul manages to grab a-hold of Prices gun and he unloads three bullets into the chest of one of Dano's friends. The gun is knocked under a bookcase though and Dano and his group beat Paul severely but assume he is dead and leave, searching for Lewis and Amber. Price wakes up barely alive and he calls Jules for help. Jules soon drives towards the school through the storm, commenting, "This day just got worse." Jules' story: Jules wakes up that morning and meets up with his friend and co-worker VJ the two of them are hitmen, despite being strong worshipers of god. They arrive at the apartment of one, Carl Cooper, and after breaking down the door, they kill Carl why he is still on the toilet, knocking open the bathroom door and shooting the shocked man through the head. They leave the apartment but his room-mate Greg follows them out to their car, and chases after them in his car, when both cars crash, he crawls onto the top of their car as it drives off but they brake sharply and Greg is thrown by force into an open manhole where he dies. VJ and Jules accidently run over a wanted felon while driving to a coffee shop, and they are forced to resort to calling their friend Jon who fixes "problems." Jon helps them dispose of the body and they are eventually forced to drench their car in water, to remove the blood. Soon after the two having changed sit in the coffee shop and on his way to the toilet, VJ by coincidence bumps into none other than Greg, who is bloody and beaten but still alive, he tries to shoot VJ in the store, but VJ takes the gun and shoots him to death through his left leg. VJ and Jules drive off as the cops arrive and a storm rolls in. VJ and Jules say goodbye to each other, but Jules on his way home gets a call from Price. The sad departure: Jules arrives at the school and upon entering the school walks into a bloodbath, there are bodies everywhere and one student is hung from a goalpost. There are around fifty or so, weaping children hiding in a school hall, as Jules passes them he runs away when a craze boy missing an eye, begins shouting for death to come. Jules enters the library and finds Price, he is about to help Price, when Price is shot dead by Dano hiding in the shadows. Jules aims his gun at Dano and the two sqaure off, until Paul stands up grabbing the gun from under the bookcase, Diane finding a gun on Ted the librarians persons, grabs it and shoots Dano four times causing him to fall back and shoot Jules who flies through a desk and after a brief look at Prices body dies on the ground. Dano still alive, takes his gun and shoots Paul through the heart. Dano barely alive stumbles away his gun having ran out of ammo, and he is attacked by his own friends who savagely beat him and stomp his head before throwing him off the roof. Paul dies in Dianes arms before she runs off, Diane finds Lewis,Amber and Sally and the four are about to leave the school when the student who was trampled, and apparently died, appears and shoots Sally twice in the chest killing her, and he is holding Danos gun, with several bullets in a plastic bag in his other hand. The kid with the gun: Jock Summers meets up with his guidance counsellor and after chatting casually to her about his bullying issues admits, that he is planning to kill the students who have tormented him so. The session started out normal but Jock eventually reveals his secret that he is going to kill the head teacher, revenge for how Dano bullied him. Jock stands up and then jumps on the guidance counsellor, Mindy and strangles her till she dies, taking a gun from his pocket, he runs towards the head teachers office and is about to kill him, when Price enters and begins chatting to him, Jock eventually jumps out of his hiding place and shoots Willis to death, exchanging a glance with Price before leaving. Jock runs out of the office not being seen by Chuck and Dano. He then goes upstairs, and notices Martin and Frenchy talking, soon after an ensuing panic causes Jock to be trampled. He wakes up and is about to reach for his gun when his hand is accidently stood on by Martin and Frenchy who find the gun in his bag, they remove it and Dano appears. Jock wakes up, hours later and finds Martin lying dead next to him, he finds the library doors smashed open and he hears several gunshots from inside. Jock enters the library and takes the gun from Dano and using bullets from a plastic bag he had, he reloads and bumps into the Sally,Lewis,Amber, and Diane, knowing Sally who he had loved over the years, but she had ignored and rejected him, Jock gets angry and shoots her twice in the chest, before killing himself with the gun. Sally dies, and Lewis, Amber and Diane, taking Jules' car keys go outside and hopping in his car drive off. Resolution: The three are having coffee at the coffee shop where Diane used to work and after saying hello to Randy, Don approaches and says "So Diane, how was the school?" She smiles at him.
