Most of the creatures we think we saw such as big foot, the lock ness monster, megalodon, the kracken and so forth awake due to humanities mistreatment of the world. They are the so called "gods" of the planet and they begin terrorizing civilizations. The opening scene could be a couple on a cruise ship enjoying life when megalodon comes out of no where and rips their ship apart. Or kids could be hanging with their friends in their house at night and hear foot steps and a furry tall human walks into the picture from the hall way and gives them hell. Then humanity goes to war with these creatures while others protest the war saying its just judgement day.
